I went on my 1st post grad run yesterday and have to admit I did struggle a little.
I have learned a few things though, the podcasts are definitely not for me, I prefer my usual 90's tunes in my ear rather than 1,2,3,4 - I had those numbers in my head all the way through and hated it.
Also running after work was probably the cause of my legs feelin so heavy. I like to run in the morning but don't feel I can do this before work.
So decided after my 3 runs of 30 mins this week I'm going to try 2x 20 mins during the week after work, hopefully at a better speed then a longer run at the weekend when I feel at my best.

Sounds like a good place to start. There are other apps with training for wherever you want to go that also allow your music to drive you, maybe that’s the best route for you. Also there’s the 10 k plan, and your playlists. What you’re suggesting though should give you a speed boost.
I didn’t do the podcasts either. I had a couple of weeks of fun messing about with different paces and distances then picked up one of the 10k plans. Don't worry about speed! (I know, everyone worries about it). It will come all on its own as you extend your runs. Good luck!
