That was fun! First 5k for a couple of weeks. My sister came back from Spain and we've built back up slowly over the last week. Tonight was cooler so we went for it! Was actually ok, feet got hot after 4.5k and sweat started to pour! But we did it, slow and steady, in the almost dark! It is very creepy in the dark on the railway line! Bats love the railway line, saw plenty! I don't think they even notice us!! πŸ¦‡πŸ¦‡πŸ¦‡πŸ¦‡πŸ¦‡πŸ¦‡πŸ¦‡πŸ¦‡πŸ¦‡πŸ¦‡

Excellent! Did you have torches?

No! My phone has one but it is not great. We just sped up in the really dark bits. Going to start earlier from now on!!

Wowser! What an eventful run and an lovely experience to see the bats tonight they are amazing little creatues

Great photos 😊 Summer is still hot and humid here but have noticed since last week how much the nights are starting draw in. Will have to get equipped with head torches soon to seek out new routes as our country park closes at dusk

We're also planning autumn and winter routes. Lots of roads unfortunately. Planning two dark runs and one long light weekend one!

Great photos Ang and well done on another 5k, you are doing brilliantly. Definitely getting dark earlier and in the mornings when I set out I’ve noticed it’s not as light as it has been. I haven’t run in the evening or in the dark for weeks now, I think it will take some getting used to again.

We have bats in our garden too. Love watching them! πŸ¦‡

I got to design and make a bat house as part of the project. I made it out of a tree stump but left it at uni as I had nowhere to put it. No garden, city life.

Fabulous photos Ang. Love that hazy moon shot. Must be really nice to go out running with your sister.

It is though she is faster than me. We have to agree to do a fast or a slower run!! She struggles with slow. She's very tall and has long legs!

Great run well done - did you wear your buff? I wore mine tonight and was glad if it! 😊

Good to hear your sister is back running with you - and well done on getting back up to 5k. Lucky you to see the bats - fascinating watching them swooping about!
