Run tourist in Glasgow!

So after my last post I had some great suggestions for a run. In the end I decided last night that I’d head to the river, turn right and run for 15mins then turn around and head back which is what I did 😅 Lots of cyclists and some other runners out too.

It has been a week since my last run because of being away with the family for two days, and I went off too fast so was going really slowly and making myself go from bridge to bridge for the last 8 mins or so but I did it with a PB of 34.42 for the 5k (that includes some of the warm up/down walks) and I ran 4.42k in 30mins with an average pace of 6.49!

Running on the flat definitely helped with that but weirdly I missed my hills - well, the downhill parts at any rate 😆 Running downhill helps me stretch out a bit and gives my legs a change of position and I definitely could’ve done with that this morning.

So glad I went out. I’m a runner!

Thanks MissW - no chance of speeding up back home as it’s all hills!

Well done not only for running in unfamiliar territory but also on a pretty awesome PB! 👊 I know what you mean about having the hills for variety. I love a downhill for a rest, it feels effortless!

Cheers Little! Yes downhills are lovely little ‘rests’ aren’t they 😆

These are good times you had 'southlundon' I remember you asking a few weeks ago about getting directions to Glasgow Green and the other runs near the River Clyde Walk/cycleway. I hope you enjoyed your visit to Glasgow, that area by the Clyde is very good for walkers, runners and cyclists as well, I have cycled all the way to that part from where I live some 20 miles away, I have also walked along the walkway to what they call "the Squinty Bridge", about 2 kilometres from Glasgow City Centre.

Thanks Al! I didn’t make it along to Glasgow Green and I had planned to run again that way in the morning (I go home tomorrow after my training course finishes) but we are going to start at 8:30am so I’d have to be out at 6:30 and I think that’s a step too far 😔
