Welcome. Firstly, relax, you can do this! You’ve made a very good decision. Drink (sip) lots of water, today and tomorrow before and after your run. Don’t go fast, the first couple of the 8 intervals you don’t know what you have in the tank... slow completion beats fast and beaten.

Welcome to this wonderful 'running club' we call C25K, you ask for any advice, First of all, do NOT be nervous, take all your runs as they say here, slow and steady, it is not a race, you might find the first 60 seconds of week 1 run 1 a little tiring, but that is to be expected, after that just go as easy as you wish, good luck and report back on your runs, bad or good, hopefully, all good.

Welcome to the club. Just remember we all started from where you are. Many of us are amazed at our achievement when we get to week 9. So many people on here (myself included) have said “I never thought I’d be able to run for 30 minutes nonstop”. But now we can! This programme really works. Slow and steady is the key. Good luck and keep us posted on your progress. You’ll find nothing but support and encouragement in this group 😁🏃🏻‍♀️

To be boring, but just to reinforce the point, go slow and steady, it is all about being able to run continuously for 30 minutes 3 times a week, forget the 5k element, hardly anybody achieves the 5k when they first graduate. Post often on the firun, buddy up with someone who is also just starting out to share your experience with and maybe pick a more experienced mentor who has already been through the programme, read a lot of the posts, you will soon find a few people whose opinion you would value. Finally (for now) when the going gets tough, and it will at times, remember why you decided to start in the first place, good luck and have fun

In the words of John Bingham: the miracle isn't that I finished...it's that I had the courage to start.

Well done for having the courage to start.. Relax and take it easy, you can do this, you'll amaze yourself with what you're capable of!

Best of luck :)
