I did my last run 5 two days ago so carried on with the "miss a day do a run" routine I've more or less stuck too so far. However today just wasn't happened, my calves were SO tight and painful at the end of the first 5 minutes it was horrible, I did the walk and started the 8 mins and just couldn't push through it after the half way through timer, first time I've stopped a walk part way through, felling pretty low now but I will try again. Not sure if I'll try tomorrow or leave it till Saturday and hope my legs get better π

Don't feel low; everyone has bad days and it sounds like you were really hurting. We're putting our bodies through quite a bit if you think about it. Don't beat yourself up about it, take a rest day (and try to relax and enjoy it) and try again. You can definitely do this.
No f words please.. you did the right thing and stopped. Stretch those calf muscles really, really well.

Do make sure you warm up thoroughly before these longer runs, and it is time to up your strength and stamina exercise too..on some of your rest days
Try to relax into the runs and land lightly... I call it kissing the ground with your feet...Start slow and stay slow.. let the legs begin to find their happy pace
There are weeks when I feel the need for two or even three consecutive days off before running again and am much better for it. Admittedly, it's difficult trying to decide when this is a genuine need and when I'm looking for an excuse, but I think getting to know our body better and learning how to listen to it is also part of the training process.
Keep your legs turning over though. Keep moving. So, things didnβt go quite to plan. They rarely do. Go again and take your time. No hurry, no need to push ππ
Oh poor you! Don't think of it as a fail, just look at it being a challenge. If it's any consolation, many people find week 6 hard, I know I did. Have a good rest and when you feel ready have another go. Just believe in yourself and you will do it. Good luck π
It was a practice. Take another rest day, do some stretching as Oldfloss suggests (she's always right!!) and have another go when your legs feel a bit better. No rush. No competition xx
Just take a rest. I tried to do little runs daily, I felt fine to start with but it was too much. Took a few days rest and started gently again. I run 3 times a week but listen to my body too. Happy running!
Aak, after the euphoria of that 20 minute run this week 6 is so hard! Iβm sure there is some psychological reason itβs in the program. As we work our bodies we need to reset our mind (?) The next run will be great ππΌ you wait and see
Well doneπ I was the same that 20 mins run in week 5 makes you think Iβve got this, week 6 was the hardest for me !.
