First graduation run

I looked up the local groups near me and went and joined one this evening. Left work 30 mins early (I'm lucky I can get away with that). Just half a dozen of us 'progressing on from 5K distance'! A lovely friendly bunch and very supportive. They kept doing double backs to give me chance to catch up, and took it in turns to drop back and run with me. They all left me standing, even though I may have been the youngest...?

We did 5.77km in 43 mins. We stopped a few times at road crossings and I didn't feel guilty coz Laura wasn't there to notice! Being with the group kept me going. I think I'll try and do a run with them every week and do something else like a solo run or Pstk Run every week.

My next goal is just not to be the slowest. I'd like to be able to keep up with the group. Second slowest will do for me! Some of the others have been running for 4 years so I felt like I was doing OK 😊. I also phoned an ex colleague who I know runs and had a nice chat.

Sounds lovely running with a supportive group. Think I’d feel a bit apprehensive about holding people up too but sounds like you’ve got the right attitude going forward x

I like running with company. Usually my sister. Feels odd on my own! Need to research local groups...!
