First run after graduating!

So despite 99% of my mind saying ‘don’t do It’ the 1% won and I’ve just been out on my first run outside of the app! Others suggested the Nike app and I did the 5k guided app and it really helped. I did change my route in the last 2k to keep it flatter as I wasn’t up to my normal ‘very slight’ lol incline but I kept running for the whole 5k! Another achievement for me! 😊

I used to really care what other people thought when I was running alongside the road (another reason for my first failed attempt at completing it a few years ago ☹️) but now I really don’t care! I’m doing this for me and no one else and it is quite freeing! 😊

Love this ♥️Great news, and really good to hear about the guided runs on the Nike app, I’m looking to do these after I graduate.

Im the same, I used to be a little bothered about what people thought of me attempting to run - but now I couldn’t give two hoots what anyone else thinks of me. Good for you!

I've just done my fourth run since graduating (although I don't count the first two as I had to walk quite a lot of them) and I just keep repeating the very last run (even though I have already completed it) because I quite like the little time checks from Laura! I have downloaded the Nike app but not given it a try yet.

My head just kept saying don’t stop don’t stop you’ve come this far lol I thought I’d try the Nike app otherwise I was going to go back to the last one of the programme like you if it didn’t work for me! He gives you hints and tips as you run which are really useful .. and counts down in Km’s and I think miles and half way and then in metres near the end ... it definitely helped me!

Do you need to be able to run 5k then if it counts you down in km’s? I’m not at 5k yet (unless you include my warm up and cool down walks in which case I am over that), today I ran 4.47km in the 30 mins. My plan is to do some more consolidation runs (I’m not sure how many yet) and then increase my time by a minute or 2 at a time like the programme does until I get to 5k. I reckon it would take me about 35 minutes at the moment.

They have all different ones 😊 20 minute - 27 minutes - 30 minutes etc and I think they count down in minutes :) I did the 5k in 36 minutes (I did think the app was broken lol)

OK thanks for that. Wow 36 minutes is a big jump up from 30 minutes in one go, well done and that's brilliant that you've hit 5k!

Well done to you! I also downloaded the Nike run app for after, how does it work exactly? Is it guided like C25K where you can also listen to music on your Spotify or is it different? Thanks🤗🤗🤗

Hello yes it’s similar you can chose your music option and then the 5k one talks you through each 1k 1mile and then a lot near the end with hints and tips ... the 30 minute one I listened to a bit of that and that asks questions every few minutes ... might try that one next time but not sure I need such regular interruption lol

Sounds good, looking forward to trying it, although I did download one called 5k to 10 k and don’t really know which one to use now but I will probably give them both a go 😬
