Run 3 harder than the other 2

So I just finished week 1 (finally!), however, I found run 3 from week 1 to be the hardest out of all 3. I thought it would be the easiest since you would get fitter as you go through the program but that wasn't the case. Does anyone know the reason for that? Or was it just an anomaly?

Did you do it today? It's the 'Monday effect'. I always did Mon-Wed-Fri and Monday’s were always toughest. I put it down to too much merriment over the weekend. Anyhow, you did it, so well done for getting week 1 behind you - you'll never have to do it again! Bring on week 2!

Yeah, I have the same schedule but I never knew mondays were so difficult 😁. Thank you! So glad week 1 is over.

Yep it could be because it’s Monday. Another explanation be that without realising it you went a bit faster than before? One of the simplest but most effective tricks in this programme is: if you feel like stopping a run, slow down instead.

Oh, that might explain it although I don't remember how fast I went. I'll keep that tip for my next runs, thanks! 😊

I was shocked how hard I found W1R3 and worried about starting W2R1 but it was no where near as difficult.

Well done for completing W1 enjoy W2 😀

It's not that the next run was easier, it's that you were stronger. The training works. Even when you find a run really hard, the fact that you completed it means those miles are in your legs.

It sure does. I will be doing the last run of W8 later 😀

Bizarrely, I found week 1 run 2 the hardest. I'm putting it down to the time of day I've been doing the runs. The two others I've done at night but run 2 I did in late morning so my conclusion is my body doesn't agree with that! Congrats on finishing week 1!

Oh yeah. I forgot that the time of day could make a difference as well. Good luck on your journey!
