Hi wonder if anyone has advice. Managed to surprisingly get to W7R1 then went off on a cruise. With the extreme heat and not being confident to run round the deck track in view of people I have not run/jogged for 2 weeks. Not sure where to start when I go out- want to keep positive so don’t want to go out and “fail” thanks In advance

Myself I would go back a week, I’m no expert but if your not confident just go week 6 and good luck

Hi there, well some might say carry on with W7, and why not...others might say pop back to W6. I'm sure you won't fail simply carrying on with W7, just take it slow and steady. According to what I've seen written here you won't have lost form not having run for 2 weeks. Have confidence in yourself, and listen to your body, you can do it 🌻

You don't lose condition in two weeks.........carry on where you left off.

I’d go out and hit the run you were due to. If you don’t make it to the end of it, you’ll be around the run you are thinking of doing anyway. Also, if you go into it you’ll be able to relax thinking it may be a practice. You’ll also probably find that the legs have enjoyed a rest and are ready to go.

Thanks for that - sounds like the way to go. I’ve surprised myself each and every run so far so guess I just need to have some self belief and confidence. Going to go for it 👍

Thank you - plan to go out tomorrow morning and give it my best. I guess a fortnight isn’t too long!?! Good news is that I’m actually looking forward to getting back on track and getting closer to that 30 mins.

Yup, I'm another one advocating just continuing with the programme. Going backwards will not give you more useful information.

More of an issue is that concern about 'failing'. This isn't deciding on an inappropriate goal. You need to know that any of us can have an off day and it is learning to cope with this and not read too much into it that is one of the biggest and most important skills we acquire in C25K. Most of us have at least one run in the later weeks that we either don't complete or which we really have to drag out of ourselves and don't enjoy.

Thanks for all advice - due to injury to both feet I had to postpone getting beck in with programme. Went out today for first time in 3.5 weeks and so pleased / surprised. Managed to run for 26 mins (strange amount I know) and actually feel good 😄. This programme is great and so achievable. I am now confident that graduation will happen.
