Jam packed day today, so only just getting a chance to post this now.
2nd Park Run this morning, Strava shot attached. Official time 36.19 a new PB for PR (22nd in my age group). Not sure how they are different to Strava but I’ll be volunteering in a few weeks so will get an insight!
3rd km had a bit of a struggle with a tight calf so walked a bit which hit my pace.
Onwards and upwards!

They are different because you didn’t cross the line at the time the started the stopwatch, assuming there were more than 10 of you there. The only way of matching the times would be to hand you a chip and you hand it in at the end... that would almost certainly stop parkrun being free.
Good time though, especially if you walked a little. Enjoy your next one and volunteering. 👍
Yes - also if you stop briefly Strava will notice. It distinguishes the total time from the 'moving time' - today it thought I was stationary for eight seconds, which I wasn't really but I was very slow at the start because of people round about so it might have paused then. It also gave me separate times for 'Montrose Parkrun' (because someone has programmed that in as a segment) and for 5k (because no one follows the optimum line exactly so by the end of parkrun you've actually covered slightly more than 5k). These four times and the official parkrun time were all within 12 seconds of each other though.
I completed PR7 today and, in very favourable conditions, I managed to set a new PB. My local event started using a new recording system today, linked to i Phone and is supposed to be much more accurate . . . . time will tell (ha ha).
You are, I see, well into B210K. I plan to stick with 5k for a few more weeks but hope to step up from September.
00:27:43 - Very Happy with that. I am hoping that when (eventually) I step up to 10k, I will be able to convert that extra stamina into extra pace over the shorter distance. I hope that's how it works anyway
Hey Mitch! You are an absolute legend! Really interesting reading how the timer works.
Your time really good even with the walk. Enjoy your runs this week. I’m off on holiday this week week. Wales! It’s very hilly. Might do a short run or 2.
