Park Run.. .

So I did my first Park Run yesterday! It was a bit daunting going on my own, do I take water, how will I do my 5 mins warm-up and cool down, will anyone speak to me πŸ€”

Spoke to the director and he explained the course. I'd walked round a bit for my warm up but there was still about 10 mins before I actually started running. Was this ok? I didnt know...

Anyhow I managed it. I didnt come last and kept running the whole time! It was a 2 lap course and during the first lap I was thinking that maybe it wasn't for me, there were so many people, I didn't have Laura in my ears counting my pace so wasn't sure how I was doing.

All in all not too shabby and yes I'll go again! I'd like to do some charity runs and think running with others will stand me in good stead!

My advise if your thinking of doing a Park Run but feeling trepidation, do it! It's a great atmosphere and the volunteers and runners are all really encouraging cheering you on the route 😘

Parkrun is a brilliant experience.

I don't know where you are in the programme, or whether you have finished, but our advice to those still on the plan is to stick to your C25K intervals.

Glad you enjoyed it.
