47 yr old dad running the challenge with a 12 yr old

My son is one of the naturally talented sports all rounders and he wanted to start running as well. So as his life long coach I got included in the running. Only problem is that I am more of an armchair expert than physical so at 47 I am running up and down our local road trying not scare the locals with my white legs. Leaving the humour aside we are already on week four and the wheels haven’t come off the trolley yet.

I have come to the conclusion that the anticipation/worry about the next run is the biggest hurdle to get over and that I am starting to get withdrawal symptoms on my days off. Is this normal ?

Anyway big hello to everybody and good luck.

Oh and the app crashed today and lost all the data☹️

Yes, all normal, you get hooked on the endorphins. Sounds like you are doing a great job... enjoy the rest of your journey.

If the C25K app has lost progress, you can skip through runs you’ve already done to mark them completed.

48 yo dad with 14 yo son who is not at all what you would call athletic. Result, did the whole program on my own. Still, found the best part of 300 people to Parkrun with every Saturday, so at least I have a bit of company on one of my three weekly outings.

Sadly, I believe the rules are if the app crashes, you have to start again . . . . ;)
