One of the unintended side effects of taking up this running lark has been that my children are now interested in running. Today, my 9-year-old decided to come to parkrun with me. He astonished me by running the whole way round.

Running with the next generation
Congratulations to you and especially your 9 year old son, nice photo of you and your son in Halloween guise.
Nine year olds don't need to go through a 9 weeks course to run a 5K or for 30 minutes, if they have the natural ability to run, they just get out if bed on a Saturday morning and run it with dad who of course had to do the C25K training program before he ran a 5K.😊
Lovely photo! Memory building time too!! Treasured times!
YEY!!! Well done little 'un!!! I love to see the children taking part in parkrun!! looks like you both had fun!!
I love this!!! You are such a good role model for your kids. I tried to convince my kiddo to come running with me but it wasn't his thing. Maybe if we had parkruns where I am. Cherish this time with your kids. Here's hoping for many more parkruns ran together!
What a great photo and you've inspired your children. Hope you both enjoyed it 😊🏃♂️🏃♂️
Way to go!!!!
Running with offspring (my son is 38) is a great joy.
Get him hooked and he will have a habit for life!
Fantastic getting junior involved well done
Fab photo and fab to be able to share. 😍😎 Cx
So good! 😊 So, so good! 😊😊 What a lovely photo! Please pass my congratulations on to your son. And how fantastic to have this win win unintended side effect.
Oh how lovely trogdelight. It’s amazing watching children run - totally carefree and mighty speedy! 😀
That’s fabulous, how wonderful to have inspired him! Great photo 👏🏻
That's just perfect! My son is much faster than me, but he did wait at the end of a race we did 'together' and even that much sharing felt special - so to run parkrun together must be wonderful. Be prepared to be left in the dust in a few years time 🙂
I did that in reverse. Followed my grandson (he's 18 today) all over the country, then his dad started, and then me last year.
Just did my 9th Park Run yesterday and a 3rd PB in a row.
Try to keep him interested but dont force his progress. Join a club.
Wow that's brilliant, and well done for getting mini trogdelight out there with you 😉🏃♂️🏃♂️👍
My 20 year old son also CLAIMS he'd be able to run as he used to in school but I've yet to see the evidence...probably coz running with your Mum isn't cool 😳
Nice pic! It’s great that you got to do parkrun together. Hopefully, one of many. It’s a nice activity to do together! My 19 year old son runs with me on rare, special occasions.
