Well WiFi here on holiday is......well let’s just say, very hit and miss! It’s become the norm to have access to the world from wherever you are. But in saying that, sometimes taking a break should be just that. And let’s face it, it’s just a habit or maybe even an addiction 😬!
After all the fiddling around with a very poor connection yesterday, I was only trying to congratulate graduates and checking in with my running pals. Today ceasing the access I have at the moment, I get in to find that I have somehow joined the Bridge to 10k Forum!! 😱 Now it was something I said I would think about later (as I’m slow...getting better slowly (and still slow) and I just can’t imagine myself running 10k 🤪! Did I mention I’m slow? 🐌 ).
However.....is this an act of fate or just foolishness? I ask myself! Looking back at how far I have come, I have just realised that my last run here in Croatia 🇭🇷 was Postgrad Run 13, it’s meant to be an unlucky number, but I described myself as a lucky, lucky, lady! 🍀 😂 Nice!
I’m going to do my normal run tomorrow and when I’m back home, I’ll need to have a good think about it!! I really don’t want to take on more than I can keep up with. And, I certainly don’t want to stop having fun and just enjoying running!! My holiday has brought it home that my goal now is definetly more about weight loss. So I need to start on that mission now.
Will I enter the Bridge??? We shall see! 😉❤️

Thanks Vix! I just think that if I now focus on my weight loss goal now that I’m running, I’ll get on the Bridge more naturally! Know what I mean? I just like to keep it simple! There’s plenty of other things to perplex the brain with! 😂❤️
There’s no rush and it’s about doing what’s right for you now and approaching longer runs when your body and mind are ready....you’re such an inspiration to us all!
I love the ‘organic’ attitude - I’m still enjoying training and structure. But you don’t have to be actively running towards a 10K to be on the B210k forum 😉 I found some really great tips about running for a longer time over there, so if you do find yourself getting beyond 30min regularly you might want to take a look. Xx
I post anything interesting/helpful for C25k on here, and about my postgrad training runs on the B210k in case the questions about technique and stats puts C25k-ers off. It’s ok to discuss times and distances there because everyone understands it isn’t a competition by the time they’ve done W9 of C25k 😁👍
Whatever you do, Fabulous, will be fabulous! Your enthusiasm is infectious and I always think a positive attitude is half the battle to succeeding in whatever direction life takes you. 😀
I seem to be on that forum too - and I’m still running less than 4k in 30 minutes! Hello?? 😅😅 Still, I do read posts over there, and there are some helpful tips.
Have an amazing time in Croatia and good luck with the WiFi! 👍🏻😀🏖❤️
Thanks Cheeky! I’m heading out of the bathroom now in fact! This is the only place my son has discovered in our room that the WiFi is pretty good. It’s time to get outdoors now though!! There’s sunshine to be enjoyed!! Thank you!! 😁 🏝🍸❤️
You can certainly do it if you want to do it. I’ve reached 8k now and I’m not fast. There’s no pressure over here - nothing to prove, just enjoy. And if that means trying further than before, bravo.
Enjoy the rest of the rest and see you back here soon.
I'm mostly posting the Bridge now. Even though I have no intention of starting to bridge just yet, I want to feel comfortable running 5K, and I'm not yet - it's a big stretch. Still it's always better to be looking forward...
For me, consolidation is getting ready to advance. Weight is part of the equation, for sure.
Sounds to me like Divine Intervention, Fab. (but I would say that.) 😍
Yes you’ve hit the nail on the head for me in all that you’ve said! Thank you! I agree about “divine intervention”! It’s not usually what you expect is it? That’s what makes it divine! 😉❤️
Another great post😁. I think it’s a balance between finding something that you will enjoy, that stretches you but you don’t dread doing. You’ll do great at whatever you choose 👏
I’ve joined that too but, like you, I’m not sure how far I’ll take it. At the moment just using it to commit to keeping running 3 times a week. No pressure!
Thanks Gazloc!! That’s a great motivator for your running! I’ve really enjoyed being quite airy fairy and light hearted about running. Running for 10k sounds serious! But I’ve also learned not to count myself out. So I’ll just need to get my head together and see how the land lies!! 😉😁❤️
Do whatever you enjoy and keeps you loving running. The fact you are now active and out running 3 times a week will be helpful for your weight loss, and as you begin to lose more weight you may find you naturally get faster or want to run for longer. Who knows? Go with the flow ❤️
Ah Flar it’s such a great goal to have! Amazing! I just don’t know if it’s mine yet!! But as long as we’re getting out there running, who knows what will happen in the not too distant future! I’m definetly improving and I know it’s possible! It certainly is for you Flar! You’ve done such a brilliant job runner!!🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽 😁😁❤️
Lady you got the running bug!! I suggest go with what your gut says. Only you know best, besides I believe everything falls into place at the right time. You never gona stop now only move onto better things and higher places. Keep us posted xxx
I'm like you. Not sure what to do yet. Now I can run 5k I'm thinking ....I could run 6 or 7? Couldn't I? But I don't want to stop enjoying myself either..!! 🤪
Ang......you definetly have me thinking now! 😱 Isn’t this apprehension the same little sneaky gremlin that thought we couldn’t run for 30 minutes?! The answer is yes we can do 6km and 7km and feel amazing!! Forget the time 🙈......I know I can do 5km! Where to run that kind of distance without getting a bit bored? Well...... that’s just another adventure calling!! 😁😁❤️
Hi fabulous I’m on this forum too and haven’t felt any pressure to move any further than I want. You get the chance to consolidate and increase pace and time gradually while gaining an insight to what is involved in moving onto 10k. I am still playing on the bridge running 3 times a week, one of which is 5k . Movement to b210k is usually recommend after you run 3 x 5k a week easily. You can still go on to c25k to cheer the newbies on .
Good to know Dexy5 thanks. I’m not running 5k, 3 times a week yet. Mmm.... What App do you download for the Bridge to 10k? I should at least take a look. 😉❤️
JuJu’s 10 the magic number 10K plan is very flexible and is your programme. It is a rolling programme and the next intake is the 17/8/18.
It covers 8 weeks, which offers some structure, but definately no pressure. You start and finish it as and when it suits you.
As others have said you can be involved on the bridge and C25k forum/s,I guess it really is just one big forum but sheltering C25k appropriately from untimely/ irrelevant information at a given stage of a journey.
You certainly cannot make the wrong decision whenever you make that call.
Enjoy your holiday and you have certainly got stuff sorted and doing fabulously Fabulous.💥🏃♀️💥
No fear only enjoyment.🌟It’s 3 runs in a group with whatever days you need in between. Like C25k when you run, don’t stop, that as you know,it is what builds your stamina.
I think the first week is 2.5k, 4K and 5k/5.5k🤔.
Normally the short run can be used as intervals or your hard run , 4K at your happy pace , and one long run at your happy pace.Starts at 5k and builds to 10K in 10% increments. But you can do what suits you, in order I mean and longer🤔 if you are ready.🤔Following the guidance rule 80-90% easy, happy pace and 10-20% harder or more excertion.
I just use the self assessed Borg number. 0 is the couch 5-6 happy pace, 10 flat out, and everything else in between. You know your body best and it is just simple.
Hope this helps.
Again just one run at a time.
Only enjoyment, no fear.
Laura’s 3 podcasts can be useful along with JuJu’s tips.
