Will be attempting W4R2 tomorrow morning, I seem to struggle with my first run and finish strong, do I need to warm up a bit more than the 5 min walk?, any advice would be appreciated!

First run always a struggle!!

Hello. I raised the same point on another post and a few people mentioned the ‘toxic 10’. There’s some interesting stuff on the internet about it. One example:

Hope this helps 😁

Historically, on here there are literally hundreds of posts about the Toxic ten... there is a real reason for it.. all to do with oxygen.. and muscles... ( Mr OF explained it to me at great length! I got very tired after thirty minutes of it)
In a nutshell...Your muscles are warming up, and you need to give your body the chance to switch from an anaerobic state to an aerobic state; you don’t have enough oxygen to find your pace... making you breath harder and struggle.
Warm up well... longer than 5 mins if you need to and then.. slow and steady...

I am in the same place. W4R1 felt like this just got real. I found it all quite tricky. I find the very hardest part puttingmy trainers on.. I enjoyed reading the advice on why first half is harder. Thanks.
My first two runs of week 4 were ok but tonight was horrendous. First 15 minutes I felt like I wouldn’t be able to finish it and then suddenly it got easier. This is so interesting to find out the reason!
