Good morning and hello there. This month it is my turn to bring us all together in the what is your week chats. I can see we have really grown since the last time I did this, it is great to see so many new faces. I thought the quote below as very apt to how I used to feel going through the program I was so eager to feel like a runner it was my main motivation. Now I am a runnner and I love it.
We are growing so much at the moment and we wanted to have a little fun post ,so we can see who is on what week of the programme, and hopefully it will help everyone to feel more included on the forum.
Please remember it doesn't matter if you stay on the same week for a while, that is fine; it is a journey and it really doesn't matter how long it takes, it will be so worth it when you get to the final run.
If you have just graduated, this will be a great place to keep you motivated, there is always the Quest on the Bridge to 10k forum as well for graduates.
I will add all the names from this week under this post. Every week for the month of August the names will roll over into another post.
Let's get a good list going so we can support each other.
(Come on you lurkers, you can do it as well. ?)

Me too! my last run of last week was a bit deflating as I couldn’t manage the second 3 min or 5min but then this morning I managed all three runs, Yay 🙌🏻
On granny duty all week so wondering if I will be able to run, she’s up at 6am and bounces through the day till about 8 pm, so likely I will be suffering withdrawal symptoms by Friday 🤕. Did a Parkrun last Saturday with a new PB, yippee. Aiming to get to the Hastings Parkrun next Saturday, someone here said it’s a good one, it’s flat! Suits me 😎. Maybe not running much this week I will have loads of stored energy in my muscles and will run super fast - possibly?! 😂
Finished Run 3 week 6 this morning. Biggest challenge has been getting enough air in my lungs but today didn't sound so bad and didn't have to turn Laura up to drown out sound of self. She was right though I was scared that 25 minutes would be too much but did it and now less worried about Week 7.
Graduated on Sunday so for the next few weeks I just plan to keep to 3 x 30 minute runs a week and then very slowly increase distance until I can hit 5k
W2R1 done tonight actually found it a bit easier as gave up the fags yesterday and now vaping. After completing W1 Sunday and finding it hard to catch my breathe the decision was easy. Also got my half stone award at SW on Monday so even more motivated.
I did my 3rd week of consolidation runs last week 2 x 5k and a 6k. Then I saw ju-ju's 10k plan. I decided to start at week 2, so ran the first 6k on Monday. I'll do the 3k on Thursday and the 5k at my first parkrun on Saturday. Excited!
I left my running gear in England and it’s just as well as here in Catalonia it’s like the surface of the sun. We had 27 degrees minimum NIGHT TIME temperature on Friday, 42 degrees max during the day. It’s also incredibly humid so the slightest exertion requires yet another shower. 😱 So much for my day-dreaming about running through the vineyards.
More consolidation runs for me. I’m not aiming to do a 5k this week, but if I find a suitable place to aim for that while on holiday, I may try for another. Otherwise it’s whatever distance I can reach during the 30 minutes I’ll be running on the beach!! 🏝 Another new experience ahead!! Oh, I do so love running!! Excited!! 😁😁❤️
Hey there Realfoodieclub, I’m SirVillian 55yo from Alcester in SW Warwickshire and I’m on Wk4 2R done 1 to go - Friday pm hopefully. I’m using the local school grass running track to do my sessions and I’m really enjoying getting back into some regular exercise, the app is very encouraging and this forum is both supportive and inspirational. Thank you for your support
I’ve done W2R2 this morning. First time I’ve ventured outside, previous runs done in gym. Fitbit says only covered 1.68 miles...sure I can walk faster than that 😮. Guess I have to be patient with myself, one run at a time.
Struggled during my first run this week. Everything was aching and a few gasps for breath. Putting it down to this being my first evening run so doing my next run in the morning as usual. Managed 4.5km so ever closer to 5k.
W2R2 today. I suspect I will end up repeating w2 as I'll be in a very hilly place next week and I'm not confident about 3 mins on the flat, I know I won't cope on those hills. Going to go with the flow and just happy with my motivation for even thinking that far away and wanting to run while I'm away 😆
