Good morning and hello there. This month it is my turn to bring us all together in the what is your week chats. I can see we have really grown since the last time I did this, it is great to see so many new faces. I thought the quote below as very apt to how I used to feel going through the program I was so eager to feel like a runner it was my main motivation. Now I am a runnner and I love it.
We are growing so much at the moment and we wanted to have a little fun post ,so we can see who is on what week of the programme, and hopefully it will help everyone to feel more included on the forum.
Please remember it doesn't matter if you stay on the same week for a while, that is fine; it is a journey and it really doesn't matter how long it takes, it will be so worth it when you get to the final run.
If you have just graduated, this will be a great place to keep you motivated, there is always the Quest on the Bridge to 10k forum as well for graduates.
I will add all the names from this week under this post. Every week for the month of August the names will roll over into another post.
Let's get a good list going so we can support each other.
(Come on you lurkers, you can do it as well. ?)

Just did R2 week 1 postgrad. Aiming to consolidate for a few weeks of 30 minutes x 3 before attempting a parkrun or two. 5K still seems a long way off though. I’m very slow (but quite old too...).
Thank you! That makes me feel better. I am going to aim for one soon, but have a couple of very busy weekends coming up, so it will be a few weeks yet. Gives me more time to train!!
My brain is constantly arguing with itself, luckily I am able to ignore it and just go and run 😳, but then I'm not sure if my brain is properly wired!! 🙃
Happy running one and all, enjoy the journey, it's more than worth the effort 🌻
This one scared the *)&$ out of me too. But trust the plan and trust yourself. You've already run for longer than that (albeit with a break in the middle).
W3R1 due to be completed this afternoon 😊 I’m feeling really motivated at the mo, helped by the fact I just ate a cream cake and now want to try and counteract it 😳
Just finished week 7. Taken me a few weeks as had problems with cramp in my calves at 20mins plus. But after some massage into my knotty calves I'm up and running again with no cramping. Having a week off now as off to Portugal for a week . Have a good week everybody !!
After graduating on Saturday, I am continuing to do runs using W9 runs off the app. I have joined Bridge to 10K & will start JuJu’s 10 is the magic number in the next couple of weeks
Got some calf sleeves delivered today so hopefully that’ll ease the pain I sometimes get in my calves, will report how I get on with them 👍🏻
W6R3 😀
Pondering starting ju-ju’s plan as I’m now up to 6k without too much trouble but need structure. However am off this week to my mum’s home town where the coolest it’ll ever get is about 24 (in the middle of the night). Should I pack my running kit anyway? 🤔
W8 R1 done today, spent the whole run arguing with my brain that wanted to give up and walk, but fought off the gremlins and completed it, still don't know how! That took every ounce of willpower I didn't even know I had! X
I graduated at the start of July and am consolidating now. Did my first Park run on Saturday and ran for 35 minutes this morning. Haven't quite run the full 5k yet but edging closer ( but not within 30 minutes!)
Still doing consolidation runs and loving the freedom of choosing different guided runs on my App!! I hope to complete my second 5k run this week. 🤞🏽❤️
Yesterday I said to someone (explaining why I was not available this morning) "oh Im going for my run tomorrow". Me! A runner!! Like being a grown-up. Almost.
Did W8R3 this morning, so August will see me into W9 and hopefully beyond! Found today a little easier than other W8 runs - partly because it was cooler, but hopefully I’m getting fitter too. My pace is pretty slow, but I get there. I’m 64 and amazed at myself! The gentle and gradual build up of the C25K programme is brilliant! I’m tending to allow myself 2 days between runs.
Hi there... I'm now in W6R1... strange week and have read lots of posts about it... and am looking forward to it. I have started changing my routes which helps. Living the program 😀
Morning all. Delurking to announce that, for me at least, this is week 8, run 1 is in the bag as of 6.30 this morning, my legs properly ache for the first time in weeks but I feel great!
I've just finished week 6 so week 7 lies ahead! Possibly Wednesday / Thursday depending on weather and my recovery from W6R3. Though 3 more 25 minute runs isn't sounding much fun right now.
First consolidation week post last week's graduation. Need to get my blood sugar up before heading out next time (T1D), as seriously came a cropper this morning and had to abandon after 5 minutes. Ended up sitting by the roadside (and yes it was raining) chewing glucose tablets! I understand that exercise when diabetic is a whole new ball game, of which I still have to learn the rules before playing.
Just done w7r1...not terrible 😱 am I starting to enjoy running?!? Knocked 40 seconds off my mile time too 😁 still snail paced but did manage to overtake a dog walker lol 🐌🐢
Week 9 begins tomorrow - that's come round quickly. I've been running for longer than specified the last 4 runs, up to 36 minutes, so there should be no fears in the next 3. Early mornings do it for me, cool and quiet. Maybe I'll try to push on to 5k by 9.3.
I have just joined but haven’t done any running yet! First I’ll need to find some headphones or earplugs that don’t fall out because of the phone’s protective cover!
I have tiny ears and can’t keep those silly little things on, especially when bouncing along running, so I went to my local phone accessory shop and got some lovely padded over the head earphones.
But do watch for stopping hearing other things like traffic, mine don’t block it out but not sure if others may do
Week 9 run 1 completed yesterday. I've been running 30+ minutes since week 8 (my last 3 runs were all 44 minutes+) so technically I've already graduated but going to run with MJ twice more before I declare myself a graduate
I’m back! A few weeks ago, I was too ambitious tackling hills and my knees registered serious complaints with management. I was frustrated about taking time off to let them heal up. Fortunately, life took care of that by giving me a huge project, a weekend visit from my out-of-town adult kids, a family reunion (including cousins from Yorkshire and Edinburgh!), and a marketing conference in Philadelphia. Two weeks have flown by without a run, and my knees have settled down to just the occasional grumble. Today, I eased back into it with a series of short runs interspersed with one minute recovery walks, just to make sure all of my various parts were with the program. It felt great! It was so lovely to be back running - Something I never thought I would say 😎
On week 8 run 3 tomorrow. Was going to go today, but after the wife kept me up muttering at me in her sleep until half twelve and the youngest woke me at half five, I decided to leave it to tomorrow!
