Silly question but how do I know when I’ve run 5k ? Is the warm up and cool down part of the 5k ? Only 2 runs left ?

Realistically you don’t need to know. Graduation comes when you’ve run for 30 minutes three times in one week.

The only person who cares about your distance or your speed is you. You could measure the distance using GPS on a smart phone, or use a website to plot out where you’ve run and measure the distance. Many of us have running watches with gps, but to be honest, distance is irrelevant. After graduation and consolidating your running, you may want to run at a parkrun. That will be 5km but you can run/walk it if you want to. So even then, distance or pace is not very important.

Sorry, but I probably will not be popular with an answer like that.

I’d vote for that answer!

Totally agree!! Duration, not distance or pace!

Well done on doing the program upto now.

I don't count the warm up walk or warm down walk as part of my 5 k .

I looked up on Google maps my route and worked it out from there but I also use app mapmyrun which will show you where you ran and the distance. .

Good luck.

The thing to be proudest of is the 30 minutes... that’s medical advice on what it takes to be healthy. That’s the victory right there.

Like everyone says, prior to graduation it is not important, but if you are interested (and many of us were) you can download Strava and start it as you start your running phase. But only 10% of graduates reach 5k , most of us reached it during the consolidation phase. Enjoy your next few runs 😃
