It wasn't too hot...phew..... we hoped to get to 4.5k at least. Set off 5k from our end point thanks to Support Vehicle..!
Slow and steady 1st km, ever so slightly downhill. Next two were a bit more up and down... but all was good. Not a complete sweaty mess either...4th km was ok, we used to run this part of the track all the time before graduation... and we carried on into the 5th km! It was a bit dark and eerie! Glad I wasn't on my own!! And we did it!!! Last .2km were hard for my sister whose legs went to jelly! I just had really hot feet!!!!! And was a complete sweaty mess!
So very happy to have finally got to 5k. We graduated the first week of June and finally ran 5k in the last week of July!! In just under 45 mins. Happy with that!
Aim for the next month is to consolidate 5k and do a park run at the start of September. Will be running on my own for a week or so as sister is off to Spain.

Nice photo of you and your sister, I am glad that you both enjoyed running together, yes the nights are now drawing in, dark now 35 minutes earlier than in mid-June although summer is not over yet, still the end of August before saying that summer is over.
We're already planning for the dark evenings. Our long run will be at the weekend in the light. Running around the local roads in the dark! The railway line would not be safe after dark. π§
Well done Ang and sister on reaching 5k - itβs a great achievement. You will love your first Parkrun Iβm sure. I look forward to seeing your post. πββοΈπββοΈππ
Fantastic well done . I run with my sis too and have only made 4k so far. Hope to meet that distance soon . Bet it feels like graduating all over again.
It does! It took us almost 2 months of just steady increases in distance and time. The heat hasn't helped at all over the last month! Good luck with your runs! π
Well done! You timed it well with the cooler temperatures - not sure what itβs like in your part of the world, but itβs much more bearable down here. And great to have the support vehicle so you donβt have to double back on yourself! πππΎπΎπΎ
Very well done! πΎπΎπΎ πββοΈπββοΈπββοΈπββοΈπππ I have been away and am having a little catch up with the forum, so lovely to have seen your post! I do hope that you both enjoy the glow for a good long time. πππ»ππ»ππ»
Yay well done Ang! Onwards and upwards! Itβs such a great feeling when you do your first one isnβt it? Massive congratulations π ππββοΈπββοΈ
ππ I know we started and finished the programme around the same time, so Iβve been rooting for you to get to that 5K! As you say, time doesnβt matter, youβre just enjoying the running.
Iβm still as keen as ever and get out every other morning. Canβt imagine not having this running malarkey in my life! Love it!
Well done! I think I graduated (by mistake) this morning as I pretty much walked all the way!! I started Cto5K because I was doing parkrun regularly but not seeing any progress. Found this app amazingly helpful, probably because using it meant I ran regularly in between parkruns this building on stamina, strength and speed. Ended up finishing in over a month of extreme heat so struggled with that. Ran today because my week is so busy I knew I wouldnβt get another chance. However I now think rest would have been more appropriate. I guess Iβm not the only one to ever get impatient. Xx
