I wore my ice towel like a scarf, round my neck (obvs!) and tucked into the straps of my vest top - Yummer! Combined with the pelting rain (have discovered I Lβ€VE running in heavy rain!) I kept Kewl π€π My sumo squats must have paid off by strengthening my thighs, as toxic 15 was only toxic 7!! π± And I ran continuously for FORTY minutes!! πππ The longest I have ever run. Ever. π¬
Longest run. Ever! π±π: I wore my ice towel... - Couch to 5K
Longest run. Ever! π±π
Wow fantastic. Well done you. I agree with you about running in the rain- discovered this morning that I love it too. Loving the look by the way ππ
Love the picture!! Love these cool towels! And well done for the long run!! πππππ
Well done Flara....amazing! What are these towels everyone's talking about? X
OMG πππββοΈ
Take care though. Itβs so easy to get over exuberant on your newly found running legs. Theyβre not built yet so take things steady
Running in the rain is wonderfully cooling in this humid, sticky weather. If youβve not got a lightweight run jacket - one with a hood is a boon - Iβd get one. They are cheap as chips. You can pop it on post run as you can soon get the chills once youβve stopped running I tie mine round my waist π
That is just SO amazing!!! You're totally smashing this running malarkey....well done you!!!! πββοΈπββοΈπͺπͺππ
Thatβs brilliant. Canβt wait to be able to run for that long π
Frigging LOVE this picture! Look at that cheeky face peeping out of your ice towel!πππ...40 minutes!!!!!! Wowzers! Sooo proud of you xx
Haha thanks Dee_N π I always look like a moon calf in photos! π€£π€£
Wow, amazing, well done! πππ
So have you gone from 30 to 40 mins in one jump? Just shows how much the hot weather has been having an effect on us all. I'm looking forward to my first cool run (it's now baking again #MissedOpportunity π³). I'm at 30 mins too as just graduated.
My towels are inbound but not sure I'm brave enough to run around our village with one on my head. Would certainly be the talk of the place! π
Well done, you!
That photo makes you look like youβve just done something incredibly naughty.
Yey!!! Well done you! What an achievement! πππββοΈπ πWhat does the toxic thing mean please?
Pancakes as far as I know it's your body's chemical reaction to the oxygen trying to reach big leg muscles?? (type thing) As in when your legs kill at the start of the run π«
There's no test Pancakes , the number relates to the amount of minutes it (pain) lasts for ~ I think it's usually known as the toxic 10 (as it's generally 10mins on average) - but mine usually lasts longer but was much less yesterday π
Ooooo thank you so much!! Itβs funny because I was wondering if that happened to other runners too! π I will time it from now on! Did you free run or did you use stepping stones? You are an inspiration πββοΈ
Just ran with my music, and for the first time didn't really have an intended time in mind ~ but as I wasn't struggling as much as usual I believed that I was going to manage to get past the 30minute mark (once I'd got to around 20) and once I'd done that it felt like I'd crossed my psychological barrier and I could just keep going! I hope this means I've cracked that barrier π
Massive congratulations Flara!! Fantastic new discovery too! π I bet running in the heavy rain gives a great sense of headspace and freedom. Great photo too! Looking like a very cute happy runner!! β€οΈ
Oh wow I really did embrace the rain, it was mad I could hardly see where I was going at times! The refreshing rain, stronger legs and increased stamina all coming together at the same time ~ synchronicity π
Well done!!!! Love the look! Next up, Iβm going Hilda Ogden style! πππ»ββοΈπ
