An Ode on Completing My Longest Run, Scouts Honour
In Barbour hat with natty brim
I stepped outside, the weather grim
My off road route was somewhat boggy
So off I squelched, my trainers soggy
But in spite of such precipitation
Today’s a day for celebration
I ran my longest distance yet
And though returning soaking wet
I feel like I ‘m a running champ
Though more than just a little damp
One cloud upon my jubilation -
I noted with some deep frustration -
My fingers slipped and did not tap
The start button on my Strava app ☹️
And so I feel a tad bereft
As Strava doesn’t think I left....
