5k in the bag!

So three weeks after graduating I’ve actually managed to run for 5k!

Rather hot and sweaty this morning even at 7.30 and slightly slower than my usual 4K pace but I managed to complete it in 43mins. Now I have a benchmark to begin working on increasing my pace and stamina.

Rather chuffed that I ran for longer and further than I have ever done before.

Still can hardly believe it’s only 12 weeks since I started C25K and found week 1 horrendous but wanted to push myself to get fitter and healthier at 57!

To all the graduates I see on here who have had a wobble, I did too and had some terrible ‘runs’ I also missed Laura pushing me on but deep breath and on I’ll go. Can’t let it beat me now!

Brilliant. I did my first 5k a few days ago, it’s a great target to have after completing the programme. Well done!

Thank you all for your words of encouragement.

Umm yes that second 5k run will be a toughy but now I know I can do it it’ll hopefully inspire me to complete another 5k run and to improve on my pace too. I’ve had a real lull over the past weeks and needed to challenge myself, glad I did I’m so chuffed.
