Hey everyone! So I was doing so well with the programme, completing W9R1 just before I did the British 10K last Sunday (15/7/18). I was exceptionally busy the week after that, with it being my last week at work before we emigrate to Australia next month. I played hockey as usual on Tuesday night, then on Friday, I started coming down with what I thought was a cold (I’m a teacher, I always get ill without fail on the last day of school before summer holidays.. something to do with stress, combined with pressure of moving etc). Anyway, I spent pretty much Saturday-Monday in bed. And now it’s Tuesday. Yesterday I almost fainted, but managed to pull myself back together and have been up and out of bed today, walking around and am keen to get to hockey tonight, even if I have to take it easy (which I can do, it’s summer social). However, it has now been 11 days since I’ve done any of the programme and I’m getting worried about my progress. I’ve only got 2 runs left to do before I graduate, and my last 4 runs have actually all been over 30 minutes. I was wondering how much progress I’ll have lost, if any, from having an 11 day break, and if I should drop back a week? (I’m hoping I won’t have to!). Thanks :)

You'll be fine. 👍 You do other exercise too so your fitness will be at a decent level. Just work on your hydration in advance and take it steady.

Careful with the health. Could also be heat exhaustion. Play it safe and keep out of the sun as much as poss.

Good luck 😉

Thank you! I’ve just filled up the paddling pool and am sitting in the shade with my feet in the water, so I’ll take your advice and take it easy. Maybe I’ll try W9R2 tomorrow if I feel up to it.

Don’t worry, you don’t lose much fitness in the first two weeks. Get better first, the running will wait for you- sounds like you have lots “on your plate”. End of term exhaustion - oh yes, I’m well acquainted with that one! Best wishes for your move. 😃

Make sure you feel okay... and then head out slowly;; listen to your body and take notice of it... if you feel okay, carry on..if not, then rest up a tad more! The runs will wait :)
