If you can say “every other day at 6am” or whatever that will help. Don’t over focus on times or progress... focus on making it a habit.
Stick with this forum! Post regularly and read posts regularly. You’ll meet virtual friends 💪🏽
I found following other folk who started at around the same time as me helped, we all faced the same challenges and pulled each other along - and still do now!
There’s also the peer pressure, if you can’t muster the energy to go out, that all your buddies have and you would be letting the side down/ the weakest link/ falling behind/ whatever motivates you!
I found the forum invaluable- and of course the words of wisdom and occasional reality check from the mentors
Agree with all the previous replies. This forum is invaluable. Any roadblocks you are facing will have been faced by many before you. Post on here, say what’s bothering you, and you’ll get helpful tips and advice.
The programme is brilliant, and the folk doing C25K are brilliant too! 🏃♀️😀❤️🏃♂️
Take it slowly and don’t put too much pressure on yourself, I have found it helpful having someone to run with, so when you don’t feel like doing it, you do it as you don’t want to let the other person down, good luck and you can do it 😊
Read the guide linked to by Oldfloss and keep posting on this forum.
You can do it.
Use the app rather than the podcast. That way you can choose the trainer whose voice appeals to you and run with your own music. I tried using the podcast a long time ago but gave up because the "muzack" in it stressed me out and I also personally found the female voice used in it really nasty and grating although some people say they love it. I'm now using music that boosts me as I go and find Michael Johnson's voice is best for me as it is calm and has an accent I can tolerate.
Take the exhortation to "run" with a pinch of salt, especially if it brings back memories of being forced to sprint at school. Ideally, you want to trot along using running movements but at a pace just a bit faster than you normally walk. If you are a slow walker like me, you may well find fast walkers overtake you as you "run". Ignore them. The fact you are using running movements already gives you an enhanced training effect. As that improves, you will eventually find yourself able to overtake most walkers except for race walkers and the most dedicated power walkers. That might not happen, however, until after you have finished C25K and started extending your longer runs and working on speeding up your shorter sessions.
