So long as you stick to the programme of 5 mins brisk walk before and after and 25 mins run MandiV you will be fine. I did my first one post graduation but go for it. You’ll find it very supportive

Yes, that is a good idea. There will be plenty of folks walk/running.
The strategy depends a bit on whether your parkrun is one, two or three loops of a course. I would advise that you extend the warm-up walk to 10 minutes. Basically walk for 5 minutes, then start the podcast/app. This will give plenty of time for the fast runners to get out of your way and so will not then distract you. Then do the 25 minute run followed by the cool-down walk. After that you should be near the finish, and I bet will want to run over the line an into your finish funnel. Good luck!
Thanks MarkyD good advice which I will follow - will also leave the 4 legged running buddy out of the equation this week - too much to focus on!
