I graduated 2 weeks ago then i went away on holiday, now i'm due my time of the month and i just cant run the 5k.
Feel really disppointed. Iv managed 3.7k tonight and thought i was going to pass out.
Do you think its because i'm due on.

I can empathise with this and in answer to your question yes very possibly!
I ran a 5k in May and achieved my PB... a week later mother nature arrived but determined to carry on with my training I went out to run. It was one of my worst runs ever I felt like I was back to square one day1 week 1 of C25k where I was only able to run for a minute at a time. I turned back to head for home after about 1mile.
Your body uses more energy for stuff at this time of month so it's only natural that you will tire quicker or feel sluggish/slow. I now tend take training very easy around then and don't beat myself up if I can't manage it. Everyone is different and I know some people are able to power on through without any adverse effects.... As someone who suffers from Anaemia and related dizzy spells though, I prefer to go for brisk walks instead and spend more time with my feet up eating steak and chips and drinking guinness (Iron Replen lol)
Make sure you're drinking enough water in the course of your day too ...de-hyrdation could also be a cause of you feeling you may pass out
Yes. I felt like I was running or rather dragging through treacle doing 5k on Saturday for the same reason. I've been a graduate longer than you so I've done 5k more times and that is honestly the only thing that kept me going, knowing I was really more than capable of it. You will find it better the longer you're running for because your body just gets used to the distance, but you will probably still feel more tired at this time of the month. I do anyway. Hope you feel better soon. Don't forget two weeks off would have had an impact too probably. Hope you had a good time!
I did a park run a few weeks back when I was really hung over and came on that morning. I loaded up with paracetamol and Berrocca but I felt really rough. I'm definitely less likely to want to get out there , less energy and boobs sore too. Perhaps us ladies need to just take it easy at that time and listen to our bodies- no expectations? Perhaps a vitamin supplement would help you too . Do you get enough iron?? Good luck xxx
Hi juicyju
Yeah i do have iron issues and hadnt really thought of this until i read Ballymoneypennys reply. I know i dont drink enough to!! Whats Berrocca?
