Ah! My first hurdle... :( I have been persevering through awful pains in my calf muscles in the past few runs. However today they finally got too bad and I had to abandon my run. Feeling really annoyed as I have come so far and really want to continue to the end. It doesn’t feel like shin splints as I’ve had them before and it’s different this time. Any tips on calf pain? And how to keep going?

Sorry to hear that. Ice them up and take a few extra days off, I’m sure you will get it next time

I find my calf’s do the same if I don’t warm up enough. So I’ve been doing 15mins on an exercise bike and then they are not half as bad. Try doing more stretching prior to the run that really helps.

Hi there - do your stretches the night before and makes it so much better. Best of luck 🏃‍♀️

When I had problems with my calves which resulted in an abandoned run and a lot of pain , I sought help from a physio . I am now doing calf strengthening exercises on my rest days and have not had any more problems. £44 well spent. There are some exercises on the nhs website if you want to try that first .
