It’s taken longer than intended, nearly 16 weeks in total but I can honestly say I am now officially a runner. In my head I am now a runner!! I can’t believe I struggled with 60 seconds at one point now I’m doing 30 mins!! I’m no-where near the 5km yet but the fact that I’m running is mind-blowing for me and that is the most important thing. I’ll carry on doing 30 min runs for a good few weeks now and see if I can increase my distance.
Every day, every week I’ve loved reading all the posts on this site, some inspiring, some giving me ideas for the next stage, some just making me laugh or chuckle. Always a friendly word from so many people who have already been there offering advice and often words of wisdom, invaluable!!
Onwards and upwards now for the next stage. Thank you to those that have cheered me along my journey so far and thanks in advance for the further encouragement I am yet to receive.

If you want to extend distance to 5k, my advice is to keep running 30 minutes for two runs a week and grow one run by 10%, so 33, 36, 40, 44, 48, and stop when you reach 5k. I managed only 3.4k in 30 so it took me 44 to do 5k.
