Hi guys. Haven't been around for a while but I still remember the rules. New shoes, you have to post, with picture (they are Asics Gel Nimbus 18s if you are wondering).
My running has been, let's say patchy, the last few weeks. Anyone in same boat, all I can say is don't beat yourself up about it like I did.
I started this program like so many others, convinced I would never complete it. To my surprise I had an uneventful time as an undergraduate, no major injuries, a few minor mental wobbles, didn't repeat or miss any runs, and out the other end. I became a runner! ๐๐ผโโ๏ธThanks I should say in no small part to my cyber running buddies here. That was the end of June. I should add that at the time and if you read my old posts, it felt far from straight forward!
Since then I have run, not three times a week, not always 5km but I have run. And I did a 5km road race on my birthday in August. But, and this is my point, at no time since then have I worried that I would loose it, not be able to run or finish the run ( all those things we worry about continuously in the first nine weeks) and I have always considered myself a runner ( maybe, a lapsed runner some days, but always a runner!!)
I was just reading a post about lost mojos, not sure if Jaccanrun was right about where they hang out, I think mine has been by the back door for the last couple of months but I was inspired yet again to get back at it, cos I'm not alone.
This forum is inspirational ( a much over used word these days, but really appropriate here). Even when you don't run, read and I promise you will never be a non-runner again๐๐ผโโ๏ธ๐
I start a new job tomorrow and fly out for training in another province on Sunday so I am hoping to do some, what's the expression? Tourism running? Will be sure to post.
I wish you all many happy hours of running
