Best app to use?

Looking for suggestions on the best app for iPhone or Apple Watch to track your run? Currently completed W4R1, found it really hard due to starting a nursing placement with 4:30am starts and 12.5 hours shifts, plus this heat, finding it hard to run regularly! Arghh!

I just use the built in Workout app on the watch and the data it sends into the Activity app. Works fine for me.

I set a “segment” split just after I get the tap to say I am half way (double tap the watch screen with the Workout app running). And it reports km splits.

Others use Strava, MapMyRun, etc etc.

I use the Apple Activity app and Strava. I like having both and Strava is more 'in depth' and better formatted than the native app in my opinion... you can try. few as most are free and see which works for you.

Do they play nicely together?

Yep. I use Strava on he phone and workout on the watch... can't do both on the watch though but seeing as I only start and stop Strava at the end it's no biggy. I look at the workout app on the watch for pace/time/distance.

Garmin watch and Strava. Auto uploads your runs to Strava.

The best app for C25K is C25K!

Most posts involving run tracking during the programme are not happy ones but where getting distracted by distance and pace from the primary objective of completing the session has caused people to become demoralised and demotivated. You have plenty to contend with as it is, so beware!

Once graduated, the App Store is your oyster.

(I use Runkeeper because of the voice options - 'Mademoiselle' telling me to 'think of all the croissants now you can eat')

I wear a Fitbit with heart monitor, which connnects to my phone GPS and also feeds into Strava, because I have friends on there, and we give each other "kudos" for our runs, which is encouraging.

Personally, I find the data Strava provides hugely motivating, because there is always something there that says progress is being made no matter how awful I think a session has been. For example, overall pace might be slower one time, but the effort score is way lower than before, meaning that I'm getting fitter, or despite being slower overall, I hit a best time for a particular segement, or I managed to do better towards the end instead of flagging, etc. etc.
