Today marks the one year anniversary since I started to take back my life. July 2, 2017 went out and ran two miles. 1st mile 11:57 and 2nd 12:25. Today 1st mile 7:43 and 2nd 7:20. Lost a total of 45 lbs and have been able to maintain it with very little problems. Changed my diet and have been working out often. Thanks to the C25K program it keep me on track and a program to follow.

Anniversary Run
Do you think the weight loss has helped you get faster?
Sorry to not respond sooner, I haven't been on this site for a while. I do think that the weight loss did help. However I was running almost every day, reduced how much I ate and would run early in the morning before I ate. I was running on a caloric deficit that really helped. Oct of 2017 was @ 226, by mid Aug was down to 205. By Oct 185 and Dec 182. Would not really recommend what I did because I now feel that it was dangerous and started without seeing a doctor first. I have also been doing a Saturday CrossFit class for about a year and exercised with my students regularly during the school year. Joined a gym and am now building up strength and mass. I feel like I am in my 30's again. Ran a sub 7 minute mile a while ago.
