W4R1 done!

I was a bit worried about starting Week 4 as it seemed like a big leap from previous weeks and I know people who have faltered at this stage. But it was fine! Really surprised and very happy!

I've talked in the past about sore legs affecting the runs themselves but didn't mention that at times it was so severe that it would wake me several times through the night. I've been hoping that as my legs get stronger they won't hurt so much but if they still do then I will leave two days between runs.

Is it your calf muscles? If so I strongly recommend getting a foam roller for use when they are tight.

(I’m fact, I recommend getting one anyway, it is bliss after a longer run!)

Thanks for the advice. I've been massaging my calves with my hands but the roller would probably do a better job.

Yeah - they are a bit weird looking but they really work. I sit on my bum on an exercise mat and roll each leg backwards and forwards over it, rolling each leg side to side. It’s bliss.
