Feeling Disheartened

On Monday i did w8r3, i felt i had a few more minutes in me so also ran until the end of the cooldown time and felt such a sense of achievement at the end having reached 4.73K. Today i attempted w9r1 and completely hit the wall after 7.20 mins/1K, feeling so rubbish and upset as its the first time i haven't completed a run on the programme. Hoping i will get my mojo back and will attempt it again on Friday.

This happened to me in the final weeks , don’t worry

I’ve learnt that there are a few days every now and then where it’s just not the right day, and the run doesn’t work

But the next time you go out will be a totally different story I promise you!!!

Just try to forget the distance or the speed... just run what you need to...take it slow and take it steady... at this stage it is all about slow and gentle build up..right to Graduation.

This programme is all about beginning to build up your running legs, your strength and stamina... so.... feel proud of what you have done so far:)

Stretch well, pop in some rest day exercise and go out to do Week 9 Run 1 gently and enjoyably... cruise your way to the podium:)

You are absolutely right, tried again today and it went much better, don't think my head was in the right place yesterday :-)

For me W9R1 a bit off. W9R2 great. Can't predict it necessarily. But get out and do it anyway. A bad run doesn't make you a bad person and it's not an occasion for distress. Think of it as an opportunity for righteous indignation the next time out :-)

Brilliant!! See? You're a real runner. You had an off day. Now enjoy your rest day. You'll be on the podium before you know it. And there are great cakes. And big hugs for everyone!! xx

It doesn't help to keep looking at time and distance, if using a watch leave it at home and just concentrate on the programme..

Took your advice on board, didn't look at my phone once today which was the first time ever, just went with the flow :-)
