Feeling disheartened!

My friend tells me not to be so hard on myself! I have ME and am now running 30 minutes without stopping. Really disappointed I had to abort a run yesterday due to pain, and am still in a lot of pain so going to have to have a few rest days. I’m determined ME isn’t going to win! Also found out today though that my son walks the dog faster than I run!! Oh well! I’m overweight, 49 and hurt even on a good day!! Must stop being so hard on myself!!

Don’t be put off. And be gentle with yourself - your pace is your pace. Your son doesn’t have your physical history, your age, etc.

Take the rest you need and do the best run you can do. Enjoy it.

Yep, your freind is right, you are being too tough on yourself. All things considered you are doing really great. Lots of others would have given up ages ago. You are one awesome lady !!

Enjoy your rest, embrace your inner couch potato, then when you're ready put your lucky running pants back in and get back out there and enjoy!

Too right stop being hard on yourself. You are an amazing role model just by being out there and doing it! So what, your son walks the dog faster - he is, after all, young enough to be your son!! 🤣 keep going, rest when you must but have faith in yourself. You’ve got this far after all.

Don't be down with yourself, you are doing amazingly. You have shown great courage and determination getting out there and to run for 30 minutes at whatever pace is incredible. Rest and recuperate and then come back with confidence. 👏
