W5R3 goodness gracious little old me

I was not looking forward to this one at all. Until now I’ve resisted looking ahead to see what was in store each week but this one I felt I really ought to.

Reason being, I’m not at home this week but instead am in a little village in the middle of nowhere, at 1070m or 3500ft above sea level. I needed to know if I could do a run, any run let alone W5R3, at altitude.

And you guessed it, I did it. Took a huge amount of effort and dripping sweat but feck it, no one here cares. It’s full of hikers and mountain bikers and various odd sods like me. Everyone exists in their own little world, the same as at home.

Five weeks ago I couldn’t walk up the (admittedly steep) hill to the village without stopping for a rest half way. Today I ran down and up a long hill without stopping for 20 minutes.

This programme is amazing.

Well it’s not exactly Kilimanjaro so altitude is a relevant term! This is in Switzerland near the top end of a river valley. On Tuesday I shall walk down to the river and run there - it’s nice and flat!

Well done Julessn, you have got what they call a milestone in C25K, a lovely picture of Switzerland, I love everything that is Swiss.
