W5 R3 Done! Never thought it possible!

I was dreading this, as I imagine we all do, but the previous weeks' prep has done its job. Week 1 and I was absolutely knackered after a 60 second run but I'm finding that breathing is not the issue any more providing I keep up a reasonable pace. I've got a dodgy knee though and I was convinced that might let me down this morning but I meditated before running, not sure that had an effect, to convince myself that it would all be OK. And it was!

But I've got to tell you that when I got to 10 minutes I felt great and ready for more. 15 minutes, what an achievement - and then you absolutely have to finish off. I think pace is the key, I'm not worried that I might be slow at the moment as I will pick up the pace as I move on to weeks 6, 7, 8 and 9 and beyond.

Last 2 minutes I really stepped it up and the sense of achievement was massive.

Really ready for WK6 now. Whoever devised the timing for C25K is inspired and smart - it really works. Have confidence, follow the instructions to the letter and you will achieve.

Picture: part of my running route along the River Frome

Cheers

Tim

Well done, it’s a real milestone moment. And great pic, it looks like a beautiful running route

Lovely pic! Well done - W5R3 is such a milestone both mentally and physically. From here on in no other run increases as dramatically. But do beware Wk6 there’s lots of posts on here about how it catches us all out! It really is all about pace: slow it down and then slow it down even more - that’s the key. Best of luck for WK6 👍🏻

The Frome looks amazing. Well done getting this far with the dodgy knee - snap! - also with me but my leg and dodgy knee has just got stronger and stronger throughout this programme. I’ll be back to running in the Winterborne Valley next week. Not quite the same as the Frome but the wildlife along the river is amazing and enhances the running 🏃‍♂️ 🏃‍♂️ keep it up !! 😉👌🏃‍♂️🏃‍♂️💪🏻👍
