Week 1 Run 2 newbie

I completed my second run today and loved it. (I'd started a few weeks ago and done one run but a very unusual asthma flare stopped me so this is second time from the start - with my asthma nurse's blessing :-) ). For motivation, I have decided I am going to buy myself a nice new pair of bright trainers on completion of the whole programme.

Well done you, I did same and promised if I stuck to it would buy new trainers, by week 4 I treated myself and am so pleased I did. Keep going, take it really slow and you get there x

Thank you for replying... it won't surprise me if I buy them sooner like you did - you've given me a good excuse now haha.:-)

Welcome to the forum and well done on getting started.

Have you read the guide to the plan? healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

If you take to running, then I would recommend getting a gait analysis done before you buy shoes and waiting until the end of the programme may be too long to wait, depending on what your current footwear is. Leisure trainers are not running shoes and do not support the foot in the same way.

Enjoy your journey.
