Well that knocked the smug out of me. Thought I’d run home from the station, all slightly uphill, but I can cope... 5mins, pah, I’ll probably be able to run all the way home....!
Why then was I pleading for MJ to call an end to the first 5 min run?? First time I’ve really doubted I could complete the session, despite smashing the 20min run last week...
Still, got through it..... just.

Think you will find from reading posts on here that we all get caught out by the first week 6 run. Well done for finishing and getting this far. Good luck with the rest of week 6 🙂
Yeah I did week 6 run 1 this morning and also found it more difficult that week 5 run 3 (20 minute run), must admit I wasn't feeling great, but thought it would be a lot easier!
Sorry mate - I had to smirk 'that knocked the smug out of me' Classic
I'm doing W6R2 tonight and did W6R1 on Monday - the day after the 20min run of W5 (don't ask!) Legs were heavier than normal but people had said this week is likely to be more difficult than expected - the real issue came yesterday morning trying to get out of bed - F*** Me - my thighs had been swapped for lumps of lead and I could only get down stairs like an arthritic crab!! I kept myself as mobile as I could and took the dog out for a brisk walk last night and this morning all feels good.
No idea what the reason for this is but my new mantra is 'trust the program' - fingers crossed tonight will be a little easier.
Yeah, you’re right.... trust the program... and praise heaven for Michael Johnson. I only wish he was whispering encouragement for the other 99% of my day...
I was the same! I have done run 2 and that wasn't great either for me. It's run 3 tonight so hoping I'll be smug tonight 😉. Seriously though I was ready to give up but all the amazing support from this community is spurring me on. Good luck and see you at the finish line 😊
