Happy running pace 😎

I've been using an app called Rock My Run which has a really cool feature (in addition to all the lengthy running tracks which are awesome!).... Many of the tracks can be set to play at a particular BPM (beats per minute) if you are someone who likes to run in time with music. So for example, my early runs were set to 150BpM and that kept me REALLY slow and steady as I have a tendency to start off too fast and then wear myself out. I gradually increased to around 160BpM for week 5 and then to 163BpM which is still slow but it meant the parkrun I did (including walking intervals) took 42 minutes. So that's my benchmark now...to gradually increase my pace once I've graduated (hopefully next Saturday!!) and then work towards 5k in 30 minutes by gradually increasing the BpM that I run to. Very happy running slowly at the moment as it means I have reached week 8 with no injuries... Oh and the best thing is that I have stopped using my inhaler before and after runs. Never in a million years did I think that would happen! πŸ˜πŸ‘πŸ˜

That sounds like a great app - is the music supplied or does it organise your own tracks? And congratulations on abandoning your inhaler!

The music is all there... It's a free app but if you want to have the facility to alter the speed of tracks after the trial period there is a small fee x

That's sounds good! Yesterday I finally dragged myself into the 21st century by getting a new phone - looking forward to trying out all the different apps :-)

Excellent news about your asthma too - my son's running with both me and his Dad now so hoping it has similar benefits for him x

That's great, I never expected to be inhaler free after so many years of needing it! I suspect I may need it in the cold weather but for now I am absolutely thrilled and I hope it has the same effect for your son x
