W2r1 can I up things?

Hi I'm feeling good after each run even though it's early days. I was wondering about leaving just one day between runs what do folks think? I'd pull back if I had problems. I'm going on holiday to Majorca just as I head towards last week and was wondering if I could graduate before I went or when I was out there just concerned about heat when there

I wasn't thinking of giving up a rest day at all but running every other day

Hiya, firstly jealous of the holiday......

Secondly, are you saying instead of treating the weeks as actual 7 day week, just leave 1 day between each run?

So have

Monday - W1R1

Tuesday - Rest

Wednesday W1R2

Thursday - Rest

Friday - W1R3

Saturday - Rest

Sunday - W2R1

Monday - Rest

Tuesday - W2R2

???

This is technically fine but it won’t really give your body a lot of healing time later in the program! I treat the weeks at Monday to Sunday weeks so every week you get at least 2 days off. You definitely need 1 complete day where no run is completed at all, but you could fit in some X training?

Hole that helps and keep up the good work.

Every other day is fine. There is no set rule saying you have to have 2 rest days after run 3.

Agreed.

Just to clarify, It didn’t mention the two rest days after run 3, I said I treat the week as Monday to Sunday I I get at least 2 days off, this could be after run 1 or two.

Personally, when you get to week 5,6,7 I would have found it far to difficult to run, Rest, run, Rest etc. Having that extra day at some point in the week help.

👍

I did alternate days. Sometimes things came up and I had to take a couple of days off. I look on it as a nine stage program.

I’m doing alternate days atm like you’re suggesting (I’m about to start week 3 tomorrow) but I’m not sure how easy it’ll be to do when you get to the longer runs :)

Good luck though!

Ps if you’re going for a fortnight or less you should be able to pick up where you left off anyways (ie no need to go back and repeat anything)

If I were you I’d take your running kit with you on holiday. I live tourist runs - it’s a nice way of seeing the place you’re staying and gives a nice variety to your running. You can use walkjogrun.com to plot a route.
