I have been thinking about doing this for ages. I gave been lurking on the forum reading other people's experiences which I have to say have been incredibly motivational, inspirational and some quite humbling to read.
I am incredibly unfit and afraid of starting in case I don't finish the programme.
I didn't have time when I was working (honestly!) but I retired yesterday. And having told everyone I was going to get fit I thought that I had to start as I mean to go on and do my first run today.
So W1R1 with Sarah Millican and then in the second running minute agonising cramp in my calf. Panic. FFS!!! I had only just bloody started!!!
However I went back to walking for a bit and could gradually feel it receding and was then able to come back for the next minute and finish the run plus some extra to make up for the lost time.
I feel ridiculously proud!
So - here we go for the remaining 26 runs.

Well done, you've made it through the toughest part of this "The 1st Run".
I think most of us had a bit of an issue with that one. Keep at it, keep checking in on here for fantastic support and advice and you'll reap the rewards in no time.
Well done, you will reap the benefits, when I done week one I was a breathless panting hot individual that just asked myself why put yourself through this. I'm on week eight now, feeling really good, breathing is still a problem but it was on week one, but if I done week one again I think I would breath normally! Everything seems better now, rarely get up in the night anymore and lungs have much more capacity..... go for it .
Congratulations for starting the program. That’s the hardest part out the way, make sure you’re well hydrated. Not just on run days, but all the time. My experience of cramp has always been down to dehydration.
You should be proud! Well done for starting. Watch that calf though. I've had problems with mine on & off. Read the link that Iannodatruffe sent you - it's really helpful. It is possible that you may be running too fast which is why your calf hurt. I think we all started off trying to go full dark no stars - I know I did! The advice I was given on here was slow down & then slow down some more. I did & here I am on W8. Never ever in my life have I run for this long. This programme really does work. Good luck & keep us posted
