Graduation approaches! At risk of being repetitive I just can’t believe it. I haven’t done any running for 30 years, I’ve got bunions, varicose veins and the shortest legs in the UK. I have to say it was a struggle this morning and I did curse (under my breath) when I reached the lock just as the gates were opened for the slowest narrowboat ever.
I also can’t believe that I love this so much that I’m prepared to go out in public in a tiny pair of shorts without having shaved my legs 😱 I’ve also learned that runners are invisible to the general public, especially dog walkers, despite my newly aquired taste for fuchsia pink.
I did 4k in the 30 minutes, which I’m very happy with. On Tuesday I actually carried on when Laura said I could stop, to see how long 5k would actually take (answer:38 minutes) but it was too much and I don’t want to injure myself so I’m continuing the slow but steady approach.
All you newbies - if I can do this, so can you!
