Time - missing runs

Hi all. I’m new to C25K, just started W2. My problem is finding time to go for a run with childcare. W1 went really well, evenly spaced out with time in between to recover as hubby home. Now his away for a week no childcare. I didn’t want to stop my running so I incorporate my w2 run 1& 2 into my park runs I do on a Saturday mornings - obviously that means doing two runs straight after one another. Is that ok? Any suggestions, any advice? Or should I just complete a week at a time when childcare available?

Don't put too much pressure on yourself. Family ties can be hard to manage, I took longer than the 9 weeks to complete my C25K journey but i still got there. I did most of mine in secret so could only run at limited times.

Try to plan when you can but don't worry if plans need to change. You will do this, I know you will 😊

I wouldn’t double up, it is a lot for your body to cope with. This is a journey not a race take as much time as you need, get out while you can and don’t beat yourself up when you can’t. After you graduate you will be making your own schedules so it is best to get into a routine that suits you right from the start, that will help keep you motivated in the long run.

Thank you for your response. Yes you are quite right it is a journey not a race. I have started and I will complete in my own time. I suppose you have made me look at things differently and actually be proud of myself that I have started this program.

You might get away with it for the early weeks, but it is very easy to underestimate the stresses that running can put on the body. When you run, you create micro tears in your muscles, which repair and strengthen on your rest days, not whilst running. No rest means no repair, no strengthening and therefore an increased injury risk. That is why we strongly advise having a rest day from running between each workout

The guide to the plan is essential reading healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

You will find a way.

Thank you for your response. The guide is extremely useful. I have started this and I will finish in my own time.
