This was a thing I was a bit concerned with Dbbd, after the interval walking breaks from week 1 to week 5 I thought also that my legs would get sore and hot with all the running in the later stages of C25K, however, with other exercises I do on rest days so far my legs are not as you say "hot hot" after the longer runs, perhaps you are going a little too fast, I cycle, do a bit of yoga and strength train with kettlebells and do a bit of stretching also on my non-running day as well, perhaps try other exercises as well as your stretching exercises.

I think u could be right, need to stay active on my rest days see if it makes a difference.

Good morning Dbbd, I have just come back and completed run 1 of week 8, that's the 28-minute run, I ran it around the artificial loch* near to where I live, went OK and look forward to running run 2 of week 8 on Saturday.

* this area used to be a big swamp, but they dammed it up and created a man-made loch, it is now part of a nature reserve with nice paths for walkers, cyclists and of course runners.

Hi Dbbd, the run went very well indeed, I started the run just 8 minutes from where I live, so I had an 8-minute warm-up walk, then I started the run at a gentle steady pace, about 168 cadence beats a minute, I don't have any app with me so I count the number of times my right foot hits the ground in 30 seconds and multiply that by 2, that makes a minute, then double that, so throughout my run it was a steady 168 beats a minute for 27 minutes, then I accelerated to 180 for that last 28th minute. At the very end of my run, I met a lady walking her dog and told her that I had just ran non-stop for 28 minutes, she congratulated me and said she could not walk that distance, let alone run it. So its on to run 2 of week 8 on Saturday morning. I hope your C25K is going well.

Hope your runs go well with your new watch, by the way, I only count what my running pace is only occasionally during the run just to check up that I am at an even pace, NOT continuously the whole time.
