Hot! Hot! Hot!

Hot! Hot! Hot!

Wow what a day , what a temperature! Of course I was gonna take it outside today and boy was it a reality check. I wanted to stop at 3 minutes It felt that bad. I felt heavy , sluggish and the heat only empathised that . But I remembered everything i'd learned in the c25k weeks gone by. Slow slow slow and slow I was. But I kept up for 30 minutes and that Im proud of. The common in Southampton is busy atm setting up the Common People festival playing soon so my usual route was blocked so I winged it and ended up going the Park run route in reverse ... give or take a slight variation. Its about a K shorter the way I went. Meh its all good. I'm so glad I did it . One thing is certain is I am about right for the pace I did on treadmill to get 3k in 34 mins. So thats a positive Ill take. Enjoy the sun folk but don't be like me and forget lotion. Im gonna regret that tomorrow . haha.

  • It was a scorcher so well done for going out, especially in the afternoon 😳 I got away with the heat, just, by going out this morning but it was still 22 even then. But ouchy ouch, no sun cream 😩

  • I couldnt imagine running outside in this heat today & Scotland's nowhere as hot. Ruddy well done 😁

  • yeah i didnt know what to expect to be honest but at least it wasnt muggy. That would of been worse. I just need to remember to hydrate better pre run . But yeah ..glad i got the job done. Thankyou :)

  • I wont be venturing to run outside till week 3. In Corralejo. Little nervous about the heat. We run on chilly wet up here. I'll maybe do midnight runs!

  • I didnt do an outside run till week 7! And still only done 3 of them. :)

  • I like the safety of the treadmill! No gyms there tho, hunted for weeks. I could lap the villa but might get dizzy...

  • The single most important advice i can give you is even if you have to slow to almost walking then do it. Even walking may be faster but just keep it there in that little inbetween place. This isnt a race and its difficult to pace yourself outdoors. I wheeze like crazy but i keep going. I wish you luck . Also drink water like crazy the night before ;)

  • Thanks and I def will. I walk slow for some. No problem slowing the running.

  • im a lumbering 17.7 stone mess at times. I dread to think what i sounded like coming down the paths lol. Good ol earphones. :)

  • Not much lighter and my 3g was off the other day. Had to hear myself pound the treadmill. Even running on the balls of my feet didnt help. And there was a teeny teen sprinting next to me, not even breaking a sweat!

  • dont worry about them. Youve won half the battle getting going . I never stuck to anything in my life except pizza menus. Now here I am .. still wheezing but so much stronger and fitter. Keep it going . :P

  • Will try not to. Thanks x

  • Well done , yes it was so hot today. It was 25 degrees here at half six this evening !

Its tough running in it that's for sure :-) xxx
