Hi I'm a mum wanting to get fit. I have fibromyalgia and depression as well as a poorly son and husband to care for.

I find exercise physically and mentally exhausting but I'm determined to get fit. My long term goal is to loose 10 stone.

I plan to do my first run tomorrow

Good luck! Take it slowly. The best advice you get on here is to go slow. Then slower! Really slow is good!

Hello fitmum.

Welcome to the group. Well done for trying to find the time for you - must be very difficult.

As Ang says- you can do this but go slowly. I’ve nearly finished the programme and still run very slowly. Doesn’t matter tho- so long as you finish each run before you move on.

Very best of luck with your “journey “.

Agree with other comments. Start slow and get slower. I did and I'm now wk6 and very slow but I'm still going xx

Hello,

If you've made the decision to embark upon this programme, that is the first major step.

The second good thing is joining this forum. Not only are there experienced runners, but also people who have completed the programme. There is a wealth of experience here. I would expect that anything you want to know about running you can find out here. The people here are brilliant, I follow a number who post their progress and the journeys are inspiring.

I have seen others here state that they have similar conditions to yourself, so you may find people you can relate to.

If you're anything like me, you will be most nervous just before the first run. However, if you make it out of the door, take each stage at a time. Each run, each walk, don't worry about completing the whole session, just focus on the next little bit.

There are lots of people who have surprised themselves with their progress, so trust the programme.

Post your progress here and you should find people at a similar stage.

Good luck.

Good luck! I found c25k really helped my aches and pains , just be sensible. I found the runs were a nice break from day to day life , an escape. Something to look forward to just for you. Go slowly and be sensible with your runs and don't put yourself under more pressure if some days you miss a run because of life. This is meant to be fun! Good luck😀

Welcome Fitmum, from a fellow Mum wanting to ‘up my exercise’ I can honestly say I’m loving the couch25k!

I’m half way through week 8

It’s the only thing I’ve ever made time to do for myself and it’s been sooo good mentally, it’s given me a new lease of life 😃

Good luck we are all here to support and the experts here have great advice along the way 👌🏼
