Inches lost

I’m finding this running malarkey very weird in terms of W/loss which has only been about 4 pounds or so and I’m on wk 8. I have however noticed difference in all my clothing? It all seems to just fit better- never really understood that concept unless I’d lost a lot of weight to go with it, but I’m finally achieving it.

Hi. Yes I am starting to notice this too. But when I get on the scales very little movement there. Hopefully we will keep losing the inches and eventually the pounds/kgs!

You are toning up.

This interesting piece was written recently and added to the FAQ posts healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

C25K is not a weight loss programme and by itself is unlikely to make you lose weight, simply because a 30 minute workout does not burn enough calories.

I've obsessed about weight my whole adult life - how embarrassing is that! The big benefit of this is raising your fitness & muscle mass which in turn raises your basal metabolic rate. Previously I dropped dress sizes but the scales moved frustratingly slowly even when following plans like slimming world.

The shock to me was the weight gain when I stopped.

I haven't lost any weight at all since I started running (though I wasn't really overweight to start with) but I have definitely noticed that my shape is a whole lot better. I've got my waist back and I'm generally much more toned with a flatter stomach.

You’re burning fat but also toning and building muscle. Muscle weighs more than fat that’s why you lose inches more than pounds.

Not what you're looking for?
