You will see from the posts and advice here that you can't run too slowly! It's about completing the run, not how fast you do it (luckily for me). My advice would be to follow the programme exactly - it worked for me and I'd never run before either. Good luck and enjoy!
Start slow, and then go slower. If you really can't finish the 8 runs, then do what you can, and walk the rest. Then repeat every 2 days until you can do the 8 runs. You can, you just have to convince yourself. But don't move on until you can do that first week's runs.
And do take the rest days - they are very important.

If it's any help I am pretty sure my walk is faster than my run! But it's going slow that has got me to week 8 rather than finding it too hard and giving up the whole thing as I have in the past. Good luck 🙂
