Hello all, thought I’d start off by telling you a bit of my story, 8 years ago I was a size 24 and very unhappy, after a breakup I lost 4 and a half stone in four months and am now a size 14, got some annoying belly fat that I need to shift and wobbly thighs so thought that this would be the perfect thing to start doing, tonight will be my first attempt, any tips? Anything is much appreciated (from someone that runs like Phoebe from friends!)

Take it at your pace and remember to praise every step every minute and every KM. good luck and enjoy the benefits- loosing some weight for me was one. Dancing for ages at a wedding was another.....

That’s amazing advice thank you! Haha I know what you mean about dancing, I struggle these days, but that’s normally due to high heels! Thank you, looking forward to my first outing!

Hello! Welcome to running. Take it at your own pace.....there is no such thing as too slow. I am just starting W9 and can't believe I have got here by just following this simple plan.

Make sure you do have your rest days, very important! Might be worth measuring your waist line etc before you start. I wish that I had to appreciate my efforts but my jeans are extremely loose so that is a big comfort, infact I had to buy a smaller size!

Please make sure you have good trainers, I had trouble a few weeks ago with my shins but all sorted with proper running shoes.

Good luck and keep posting so we can see how you go!

I’m just into week 5, and am really surprised at how far I’ve come. Now have confidence to run through my village and even wave at those driving past. First 3 weeks spent up farm tracks and very out of breath, I’m a 14 aiming for a 12, using slimming world and the running is to improve my heart and lung function. Trimmer legs will be a great bonus and reduction in tummy wobble. Well done you for taking the steps x

Good luck Duce! Sounds like another amazing achievement is coming your way. I’m still quite new on my journey but loved every minute of it so far. From a child I’ve believed with all of my fibre that I’m not a long distance runner. In less than 2 weeks and from the very first run, I feel I can if I want to be and I do! 😁

Running with a coach via the app was much better than I expected. Brilliant idea!! 😁

The running community we have here is amazing too! It is absolutely brilliant to have the support and encouragement of others, good days and bad days. Tears, strops and elation. It’s all shared. Feels like having a very supportive family boosting you as you’re on your mission.

Good luck! Take it slow (mandatory advice, I’m learning) You can do it! ❤️

Hey, welcome. Don’t worry about your speed. This is meant to be done slowly. Good luck with the first runs - going out the first time is the hardest step of the whole programme.
