Hi Everyone. New here and decided to go for the Couch to 5K.
Joined slimming world 1st June this year, embarassingly weighed in at 25st 11lb, also got a Fitbit towards the end of September and have been doing lots of walking. I'm now at 21st 9lb and looking to up the intensity of my exercise and graduating from brisk walks to running will hopefully let me do that. So i will be heading out a little later to see how I get on! Wish me luck.

Good luck, Andy! Take it easy, and don't ignore any signals your body gives you about potential issues with joints, muscles, tendons, ligaments etc. You've done a fantastic thing to change your life, and I wish you all the best. Well done for the weight loss so far!
Great going, Andy. C25k will be a great addition to your arsenal. Sounds like you are doing it all in a very sensible manner, in which case you'll do fine. C25k is really simple. Not always easy but simple. Just take it slowly and carefully and you'll do great.
There are always helpful folks around on here to help with any issues that may crop up and generally offer support.
Well done and good luck mate. Take it all gently and you will be amazed at your progress. Lots of great people on here and loads of help. Good luck. !!
Well done on your weight loss so far, sounds like you are doing really well. This programme is fab, just stick with it, take things steady and you will be reaping the rewards in no time. This forum is fantastic for support and advice and we all love to hear how everyone is getting on, so keep posting! Good luck, you won't regret starting, I'm sure x
Hi Andy, well done on starting the programme! I started it back in September when I weighed 15 stone 3, and at only 4ft 10 tall, that's probably comparable to your weight issue. So far, I've lost 2st 5 through doing Slimming World and the C25K and I can't tell you how much better I feel! I took C25K really slowly and I'm on week 9 now, hoping to graduate by Xmas. My main advice would be to take it slow, both on progress thro the programme (you can repeat weeks if you want) and on the pace that you run. I tried to go too fast at the beginning and hurt both knees which put me on the Injury Couch for three weeks. Just concentrate on building up a bit of stamina and worry about speed later. Good luck and keep us posted!
Hi there! Well done on your achievements so far and also for starting this programme. I never thought I'd manage to run any sort of distance but I'm slowly working my way through it and am on week 7 so best of luck and keep us posted
i'm back after the first session. Kept the running bits at what can best be described as a slow jog, Walked a mile first then started the app, afterwards the session was finished I carried on walking until I had completed 5 miles, mainly to make sure I reached my daily step goal of 11k on the Fitbit app. Feeling quite good. shall have to see how I am in the morning as I will be walking to work.
Glad its dark nights at the moment as Im fairly sure I look fairly ridiculous when jogging, either that or very scary if i'm lumbering towards you. lol
Need to organise some better running gear I think. Certainly a lighter waterproof jacket.
Thanks everyone for the support and encouragement. Looking forward to Fridays run already!
Well done for starting. That's an impressive weight loss already you'll notice the difference in your mobility already I expect. I joine slimming world with my husband and it certainly works! Keep attending over Christmas to help keep you focused.
This programme really works, you will feel so good about yourself and you get such great support. I found it really encouraging reading about what other people had to face and how they got past it. You really will become a runner!
2016 is going to see a whole new you! Good luck with it all!!
